DÍA UNIVERSITARIO

Advancing Latinx Achievement & Success (ALAS) is a community-driven, county-wide conference that aims to increase college admissions and STEM career exposure to our Latinx students. Since 2019, under Silicon Valley Education Foundation's (SVEF) leadership, ALAS organizes activities and supplies targeted resources to promote college readiness for elementary, middle, and high school students. Over 160 schools across Santa Clara County participate, of which many of their students will be the first in their families to go to college.

El Día de la Universidad es una celebración de todo el condado impulsada por la comunidad que muestra a los estudiantes de diversos orígenes que es posible ir a la universidad. Ahora en su noveno año, bajo el liderazgo de la Silicon Valley Education Foundation (SVEF), College Day organiza actividades y proporciona recursos específicos para promover la preparación universitaria de los estudiantes de primaria, secundaria y preparatoria. HOW TO EMBED ALAS 2022 VIRTUAL CONTENT INTO YOUR DAILY CURRICULUM?

All ALAS 2022 virtual workshops are designed in small bites (15-30 maximum in length). It is great for you to present these videos during a school assembly, a college readiness lesson, break time and assign the College Activity as homework for students to complete. Designed by UC Berkeley Center for Educational Partnerships, the Fast Forward to College lesson plans aim to create a college-going culture for your students. The resource includes 25-30 minute lessons for elementary, middle and high school students where educators can easily embed them into your existing lesson or activity of the day.

All workshops are in English and some Spanish. We encourage you to show these videos during instructional hours or after-school activity hours so your students can discuss them with their peers.
